Looks like The Punisher won’t be getting his own Netflix spinoff series

Last month, TV Line reported that Jon Bernthal's take on 'The Punisher' was being perceived so well, that Netflix executives are 'this close' to pulling the trigger on a spinoff series of the Marvel character. Many fans were super stoked about this, especially after seeing Bethnal in action in the latest Daredevil trailer.
But sadly it seems like Marvel is not going to go through with it after all. Speaking with Digital Spy,  Jeph Loeb – Marvel Television's Executive Vice President had this to say:
"I think that's something that people are speculating on, as opposed to something that's actually happening," he said. "It's certainly our hope that any of our characters will be embraced and that people want to see more of them."
Loeb doesn’t deny that Marvel could possibly go down the route of a Punisher spinoff, but at the moment, nothing is in the works. Hopefully after Daredevil season two, the fans love the portrayal of Bernal's Punisher so much that Marvel has to give him his own spinoff.
I guess we will find out when Daredevil season 2 returns to Netflix on March 18, 2016.
