Looks like we already got a look at the rumored Assassin’s Creed Empire

According to recent rumors, Ubisoft will be slowing down the yearly installments of Assassin’s Creed and will not be releasing a new game this year. Instead, Ubisoft will focus on releasing a new Assassin’s Creed in 2017 that will offer a “complete revamp of the series.”

Someone who claims to be a Ubisoft developer says the game will go for a “Witcher feel” and will be set in Egypt. The game is apparently being developed under the codename ‘Empire.’

Adding to the heresay is a leaked screenshot (as seen above – found on Ubisoft forums) of an unnannounced and still unrevealed game from 2012. At the time it was widely believed that the leaked image depicted the next game in the Prince of Persia series. According to GamesRadar, if you were to following the development cycle of Assassin’s Creed games, the image from 2012 would have been this year’s game.

None of this is official, so take it with a grain of salt.
