Apparently, there's still milk left in Lionsgate's Saw cash-cow, and the studio is preparing for another addition to the "torture porn" horror movie franchise. Details on the movie are scarce, but it appears as though the original Saw director, James Wan, and screenwriter, Leigh Whannell, will be acting as executive producers for the film.
According to The Tracking Board, sources are claiming that the movie is titled 'Saw: Legacy' and will be written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. While Stolberg and Goldfinger aren't new to the horror genre, the duo have worked on movies of questionable quality in the past: Sorority Row, Piranha 3D and Piranha 3DD.
Whether Saw 8 will be a reboot, a continuation or an origins story has not been revealed.
If you're scratching your head over the fact there is yet another Saw film in the works after 2010’s Saw 3D: The Final Chapter — supposedly the last film in the series — you're not alone.
