Microsoft has reported that users might be experiencing a limited Xbox Live service, saying that both core services and the ability to purchase content have been impacted.
According to the company, the issues are being investigated.

The Xbox Live Status page has been updated to that that users might have a hard time buying items, redeeming codes, or downloading purchases, as well as signing in and creating, managing, or recovering an account.
It is unknown how long the problems will persist and what areas are most affected.
