‘Lots more’ PlanetSide 2 PS4 beta keys going out today

Refresh your email again, folks

After a successful first full day of PlanetSide 2 testing on PlayStation 4, Sony Online Entertainment is ready to expand the closed beta. To that end, "lots more" keys granting access to the beta are being sent out today, so check your email if you think you signed up early enough to be considered for an invite.

We had a really great test & results on 1st full #PS2onPS4 beta session yesterday & are ready to expand! Lots more keys going out today.

As a reminder, SOE will be inviting players to the PlanetSide 2 closed beta in the chronological order that they applied. That means if you were one of the first to sign up, there's a chance you could be invited. If you waited last minute, you probably won't get an invite in this wave, but SOE does intend on eventually open the beta to a "much broader group" of players.

"We want to make sure the servers are handling everything OK and that we're getting the information we need to make tweaks and changes, and once we feel good about that, we'll send out more invites to the players," PlanetSide 2 executive producer Clint Worley told us earlier this week. "We're going to send out that initial round, evaluate, make sure that we get the data that we need, and then send out the other round. The invites are being sent based on when the players submitted their beta application. The earlier you submitted the information, the more likely you are to be in the early phases of the beta."

Although SOE claims to be inviting players in chronological order, I've heard some stories of players getting codes who only just recently signed up. None of it has been confirmed so for now it's just stories, but there's definitely some skepticism and anxiety among the crowd of PlayStation 4 owners eager to get their hands on PlanetSide 2.
