The new Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery, was revealed back in November 2015, as a 13 episode long series. The series was expected to premiere on CBS, with subsequent episodes releasing on CBS All Access in January 2017, but the series was delayed to May 2017 in September 2016 and again earlier this year.
Fortunately, there's some good news for the series – there's a new captain on board. Jason Isaacs, perhaps best known for his role as Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter, will be taking the role of Captain Lorca, the leader of the U.S.S. Discovery.
Of course, this is the U.S.S. Discovery before the original series.

In addition to Isaacs being cast for the role of Captain Lorca, it was also revealed that 'Longmire and Baskets' actress Mary Wiseman will be a Starfleet cadet named Tilly.
