Luigi confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

Hold the phone, we have a Super Smash Bros. update! During today's Nitnendo Direct broadcast, the company revealed that Luigi will return as a playable character in the both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros.

His inclusion brings the confirmed roster to 14 characters total so far: Mario, Samus, Fox, Link, Pikachu, Pit, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Captain Olimar and newcomers Mega Man, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer.

I never actually played as Luigi in the past games, but I'm sure he'll be welcomed by loyalists as he's appeared in every installment of the series so far. Are you excited to see Luigi return as a playable character?
