Luke Skywalker’s blaster from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is up for auction

Star Wars: The Force Awakens gave us a small glimpse at what Luke Skywalker has been up to the past 30 years. And now we know what his blaster has been up to as well. Luke's blaster from 'The Empire Strikes Back' (of the original Star Wars trilogy) has been made available for purchase – if you've got enough money that is.

Back in the late 1970's, early 1980's Mark Hamill, also known as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films, gave away the blaster during an episode of a children's television show on BBC. According to Sotheby's auction house, Luke Skywalker's DL-44 Blaster was last auctioned in 1998, but it's back up for auction again — this time with a minimum bid of $200,000.

One section of the 12 inch long blaster has been glued back together, but it is described as being "in very good condition. The blaster does include its original flash suppressor and scope, for you purist auction hunters out there.

It should be noted that the blaster does not (and never did) fire – regardless of the flash suppressor and scope being included.

Bidding begins on January 28th, through the Nate D. Sanders auction house.
