EA Sports has made its annual prediction for the Super Bowl. As always, the developer simulates a game in its latest entry — in this case Madden NFL 16 — to predict the winner of the upcoming game.
Super Bowl 50 features a matchup between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. Vegas is favoring the Cam Newton and the Panthers, but it's hard to completely rule out the Peyton Manning-led Broncos and their number one defense. It's a weird matchup, for sure, but Madden is typically correct in this sort of thing. Check out who Madden 16 thinks will win Super Bowl 50 below.
Well, there you have it — Madden predicts the Carolina Panthers will be your Super Bowl 50 winners.
But really, how worried should Broncos fans be? Well, typically Madden has a knack for getting this sort of thing right. Not only did Madden 15 correctly predict the Patriots to beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX (49), but even nail the score.
Historically, Madden has correctly predicted 9 out of the last 12 Super Bowl matchups. It's worth mentioning, however, that Madden was completely wrong in predicting the Broncos last Super Bowl. Madden 25 predicted the Broncos to beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII (48) with an overtime victory, and that couldn't have been further from correct. Not only did the Seahawks beat the Broncos, but they completely manhandled them to the tune of 43 to 8.
Madden isn't always correct in its prediction, but still, it's hard to bet against 9 out of the past 12 being right.
