Madden NFL 15 release date announced

Today, Electronic Arts announced the release date for Madden NFL 15, confirming it'll be released for both current- and last-gen systems on August 26 in North America. It'll be available on August 29 in the EU.

In its press release, EA confirmed it's availability on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3. The Wii U will again miss out on the latest installment in the popular football franchise.

Coinciding with today's announcement was the release of a teaser trailer featuring Carolina Panthers linebacker and Defense Player of the Year Luke Kuechly. In it, you can witness the beginnings of Kuechly's transformation "into Madden."

And once again, EA will be opening up this year's cover athlete to a fan vote. Collaborating with ESPN, fans will have the opportunity to select which player will grace the cover of Madden NFL 15. A special Cover Vote announcement will be made during the NFL Draft on ESPN on May 8 at 8:00pm ET.
