And here's where things get a bit shaky…
Odell Beckham Jr. – New York Giants – 94 Overall
There's no denying Odell Beckham Jr. had a great rookie season, but can he do it again? With only one season under his belt, I'm sure the fact that he's this year's cover athlete had something to do with his 94 overall. Still, the young receiver has 99 Spectacular Catch (no arguing that), along with 97 Catch, 97 Route Running, 96 Juke Move, 92 Speed, 93 Acceleration, and 94 Elusiveness. I still say he's overrated.
Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons – 94 Overall
Is there a wide receiver more overrated than Julio Jones though? Madden loves this guy for some reason and because of that he rounds out the game's top five with 97 Spectacular Catch along with 94s in Catching, Catch in Traffic, and Agility. He also boasts 92 Speed, 92 Acceleration, 87 Elusiveness, 87 Jump, and 91 Route Running.
In addition to Demaryius Thomas being shafted, Broncos fans also got some bad news when it was revealed yesterday that Peyton Manning is no longer a top 5 quarterback in Madden 16.

Other positions revealed by EA include:
Dez Bryant – Dallas Cowboys – 96 Overall
Despite not actually coming down with the catch (according to NFL rules) in what was probably the most crucial play of his career, Dez Bryant is still one of the game's most elite receivers. In Madden 16, Bryant boasts 98 for Catching, Jumping, and Spectacular Catch. No doubt if he caught the ball agains the Packers that'd be 99. He also has 89 Speed, 90 Acceleration, 92 Elusiveness, 91 Spin Move, and 95 Juke Move.
I'll save the Cowboys Twitter account the same embarassment suffered by the Seahawks. Wondering how Bryant could get 99 Catch, 99 Jumping and 99 Spectacular Catch?
This.
Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – 95 Overall
Calvin Johnson had a bit of a down year by his own standards last season, but he still managed 1000-plus yards and 8 Touchdowns. Despite approaching the daunting age of 30, he still remains an elite receiver, and in Madden 16 Megatron boasts 98 Release, 97 Catching, 91 Catch in Traffic, 98 Spectacular Catch, 93 Agility, 90 Juke Move, and 92 Route Running.
Well, it was bound to happen. After three days of revealing player ratings in Madden NFL 16, EA Sports could have its first overall debate (not including the run in they had with the Seahawks over Marshawn Lynch).
EA today unveiled the top wide receivers in Madden 16 and while I don't think anyone would argue over the talent on the list, I think some will be shocked to know that star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas did not make the cut. That's right, the Denver Broncos receiver with three straight seasons of double digit touchdowns and 1,000-plus yards is not among the top five receivers in the game.
Instead, we've got guys like Julio Jones who had just 6 touchdowns last season and only 2 in an injury filled 2013 that saw him limited to just 5 games. And then we have Odell Beckham Jr. who had a solid rookie season, but is that really enough to claim him as one of the best in the NFL already? Does the name Victor Cruz ring a bell?

Antonio Brown – Pittsburgh Steelers – 97 Overall
1,698 yards and 13 touchdowns, Antonio Brown had a breakout season last year, worthy enough to earn him the highest overall in Madden 16. The NFL's leading receiver has top marks with 99 Catching and 99 Route Running. He also boasts 90 Speed, 96 Elusiveness, 91 Acceleration, 95 Juke Move, 93 Spectacular Catch, and 98 Catch in Traffic.
