Mafia 3 release date leaked by Gamestop

With the reveal of the latest trailer at Gamescom, 2K also revealed that Mafia 3 would be released in early 2016 without any specific date. Today, it looks like we have that date thanks to Gamestop.

Originally spotted by SegmentNext, a listing on the online retailer's site shows a release date of April 26th, 2016 for all versions; Xbox One, PS4 and PC. That is a Tuesday which corresponds with the norm for North American release dates, yet we have no official confirmation from 2K as of yet. Set in New Orleans in the year 1968, Mafia 3 follows the story of Lincoln Clay. Orphaned as a child, Lincoln comes home to witness his new family slaughtered by the Italian mob. The action, of course, starts here.

We've reached out to 2K in order to get clarification on this release date and will let you know what we find out. In the meantime, you can see the Gamestop listing here or below in case the retailer removes it. Mafia 3 will release on both Xbox One and PS4 along with PC
