2K Games have shared the date for the worldwide gameplay reveal of the Mafia: Definitive Edition remake. This July 22nd, we will finally see the full remake of one of the best early open-world games in action. Check out the teaser trailer below!
While we did get a nice look at in-engine footage of the Mafia: Definitive Edition last month, the promotional screenshots of the remake have us frothing at the mouth to see the game actually be played. It just can’t be understated how large the jump between the original and remake is. Well, with a time difference of almost two decades, it better be!
From the beginning, this has been a passion project for us. Many of our developers helped create the original Mafia, and all of us are committed to crafting an updated experience worthy of that timeless classic. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make Mafia: Definitive Edition the very best it can be for all of our fans worldwide.
Now we know that the wait is only two weeks until we get the gameplay reveal of the game. But sadly, there’s also some unfortunate news. Initially set to launch next month, Mafia: Definitive Edition has been delayed an extra month with the new release date being September 25th.

Just as with the many other game delays, the global Coronavirus pandemic is being cited as the reason for this delay. Despite adapting to a remote work environment, the challenges of the current situation have proven too difficult to meet the original launch date while delivering a final product deserving of the quality it deserves.
