Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Artwork Implies Five Battle Types

More things to do in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe besides just a prettier coat of paint

For those who don't know, Mario Kart 8, the Wii U's iteration of the Mario Kart series, is getting a makeover of sorts for the Nintendo Switch. Dubbed, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the new edition will include additional content, including a new and improved Battle Mode.

We may have gotten some hints at what this new mode will include. New artwork for the game has emerged, according to WCCF Tech, and it seems to indicate different battle types. Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast have already been confirmed, but that leaves three other games to fit in the image below, which seem to be icons.

At the Nintendo Switch presentation, we learned that there will be no new tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but these hinted-at battle modes seem promising for something new to come,  along with a 1080p resolution while the Switch is docked. The new game also comes with new characters, including King Boo, Dry Bones, Bowser Jr. and even the Inklings from Splatoon. It releases to the public on April 28.
