When Nintendo announced Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Switch last week, we were left wondering exactly what would be added in. The company confirmed that there will be new characters and vehicles, including those from Splatoon and Dry Bones. Over the weekend it was also revealed by Nintendo that no new tracks will be included despite the initial rumor when it was announced.
Only the 48 tracks included in the Wii U version will be on the Switch. This includes all separate DLC, but no new circuits will be added. The confusion may have come from the Battle mode which has four new arenas itself, but individual races will remain the same. One of the new features included is the double item box which was in Mario Kart Double Dash.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe releases on the Switch April 28th, 2017. You can see the announcement in the video below beginning around the 6:10 mark.
