Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games announced

During this morning's brief Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Obviously, it takes place in the location of the 2016 Olympics, which is Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Some of the events included are the 100 Meters, Beach Volleyball, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Soccer/futbol, and Table Tennis. However, depending on whether you get it on the Wii U or 3DS, you'll get exclusive sports. The Wii U version features Rugby Sevens in honor of its inclusion in the Olympics this year. The 3DS version will have Golf, which has been re-introduced to the Olympics for the first time in 100 years.

More details will be coming in the future. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be out on the Wii U and 3DSĀ in August 2016.
