The Incredible Hulk has a very weird history in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In his very first MCU movie, he was played by Edward Norton then when The Avengers rolled around he was replaced by Mark Ruffalo. After many people fell in love with Ruffalo's portrayal, audiences expected another solo Hulk movie… sadly that's sort of out of Marvel's hands. Universal owns the rights to Hulk movies and they share him with Marvel for various team-ups like The Avengers.
They've managed to find a loophole and include him in Thor: Ragnarok which looks like it'll take elements from the Planet Hulk storyline. Sadly, it doesn't sound like we'll ever see another solo Hulk movie where we can focus exclusively on him. Speaking with Variety at the D23 Expo, Mark Ruffalo expressed his displeasure with Universal's decision to not want to do a solo Hulk film.
"I just want to make one thing perfectly clear today, a standalone Hulk movie will never happen. Universal has the rights to a standalone Hulk movie and for some reason, they don't know how to play well with Marvel and they don't want to make money," said Ruffalo
Ruffalo looked pretty defeated and talked about how he loves the character a lot and wants to do more with him. It seems to be a pretty sore subject for him.
Mark Ruffalo will reappear as The Hulk for the first time in two years with Thor: Ragnarok on November 3rd, 2017 and then Avengers: Infinity War on May 4th, 2018.
