Take away the the Marvel Cinematic Universe's fancy gadgets, super powers, and CGI mayhem, and what are you really left with? A pretty solid foundation for an ensemble rom-com, actually.
In light of the newly teased "bromantic" Captain America: Civil War, Vulture has reimagined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a rom-com, envisioning "a world where the Avengers gave up on the world-saving and just went full romantic comedy on us." It's scary how perfect of a film this would be.
Aside from the star-studded cast, what makes this remix so perfect is that it actually uses dialogue and scenes from past Marvel films. The quips, the bickering, the flirting — everything you'd expect to see in a solid rom-com — are already in the Marvel films! Most of the footage is pulled from Avengers: Age of Ultron (and the blooper reel), but the deep bromance of Stucky comes from the newly released trailer for Captain America: Civil War.
As funny as this is, this isn't the first time someone has played up Marvel's Avengers as a romantic comedy. Earlier this year, SNL presented us with the first trailer for the standalone Black Widow movie everyone has been clamoring for.
