Marvel Mighty Heroes brings real-time, cooperative superhero action to smartphones

As if you didn't already have enough games on your smartphone requiring you to check in daily, you'll soon have one more to add to the list. Marvel Mighty Heroes is yet another mobile game set in the Marvel universe, giving you the ability to form a mighty team of super heroes to battle evil with.

However, what's different here is that Marvel Mighty Heroes is focused on real-time, cooperative gameplay, not something synonymous with free-to-play mobile games. What's even cooler is that it will support up to four players simultaneously. Man, this is already giving me some sweet X-Men Arcade Game vibes.

In the announcement trailer above, you can see the unique art style the team went with. Rather than straight up representations of all the super heroes, they're more akin to Clash of Clans characters this time around. As long as the gameplay in way resembles that time-sink-of-a-game, me and Marvel Mighty Heroes will get along just fine.

The studio behind Marvel Mighty Heroes, DeNA, knows a thing or two about the Marvel property since their other game was Marvel War of Heroes, a fast-paced battle game which relied on players collecting cards of major super heroes, leveling them up and fusing them to create even stronger ones.

Marvel Mighty Heroes will be free to download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and Android devices in 2015. Marvel fans can get a head start by pre-registering for the game at www.MarvelMightyHeroes.com, and vote on either Rocket Raccoon or Hulk as the free special hero at launch. I'm no psychic, but my money is on the little furry guy with the big gun.
