The latest update to Marvel Puzzle Quest — version R58 — is now available. And it features 100% more Deadpool!
With the update comes the new Team-Ups feature. Team-Ups are single use abilities that can be brought into battle that allow users to use abilities from characters that aren't directly on their teams. Team-Up abilities have a chance to drop when you defeat non-minion characters, and most abilities are available to drop as Team-Ups. New are for the Team-Ups have been implemented, and Team-Up tiles have replaced environment tiles on all boards that use environment tiles. Beware, though, as enemies can also select and use Team-Ups.
You'll also notice upon loading up the game that "Dark Reign" has been removed from the title screen as future story events will expand outside of the Dark Reign storyline. In its place is a Deadpool title screen.
There's a number of other changes to the UI and characters' abilities. You can read the full patch notes HERE. You can also check out the new Marvel Puzzle Quest trailer from SDCC. It shows off the Team-Ups and Deadpool.
Marvel Puzzle Quest lets the player take their favorite Marvel characters to defeat villains and other players in events and storylines. Using match-3 gameplay, Marvel Puzzle Quest defines tag-team puzzle action, as the palyer builds a team from a roster of Marvel characters and levels up them and their powers.
