Marvel reveals the first official teaser poster for ABC's upcoming series, 'Inhumans', premiering later this year.
If you're one of the loyal fans who have been sticking with ABC's flagship Marvel series, 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', then you're already pretty well acclimated to the concept of inhumans. For those who are unfamiliar, "inhumans" are a race of beings decended from aliens that have the potential to develop superhuman abilities (and sometimes deformities) once enduring a process called "Terrigenesis".
Once upon a time, Kevin Feige had plans for an 'Inhumans' movie that would arrive somewhere between 'Avengers: Infinity War' and its yet-to-be-named sequel. Unfortunately, with new rights having been acquired for other Marvel properties and the docket of new films on the way, the movie fell to less and less of a priority, until it was canceled entirely. However, thanks to the genuine faith the studio had in the title and the fan outcry over its cancellation, a new television series for ABC was greenlit instead.
Here's the first look at the costumes, thanks to Entertainment Weekly:
With the casting process complete and the series already in production, Marvel has dropped the first official teaser poster for 'Inhumans':
There's no word yet on whether this series centered on Black Bolt and his royal family of extraterrestrial super-beings will crossover with 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' With the San Diego Comic-Con only a few months away, expect more updates on the burgeoning show as the premiere approaches.
The show stars Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Iwan Rheon, Isabelle Cornish, Ken Leung, Mike Moh, and Eme Ikwuakor.
Inhumans premieres on ABC and in IMAX theaters September 1st!
