Marvel’s Star Wars #1 now available

And it's canon!

Marvel's comic book Star Wars #1 released today, and it might be the biggest comic of 2015.

Written by Jason Aaron, with artwork done by John Cassaday, Star Wars #1 takes place between the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. It's the same time period covered the last time Marvel had the Star Wars comics property, 1977-1986. With Star Wars back in the hands of Marvel, and with Disney owning both, the new comics will be part of the canonical reset, making it part of the new, official Star Wars galaxy, along with Star Wars RebelsEpisode VII The Force Awakens, and new novels from Del Rey.

Here is the description of Star Wars #1 from Marvel:

The greatest space adventure of all time returns to Marvel! Luke Skywalker and the ragtag band of rebels fighting against the Galactic Empire are fresh off their biggest victory yet- the destruction of the massive battle station known as the Death Star. But the Empire's not toppled yet! Join Luke along with Princess Leia, smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, droids C-3PO and R2-D2, and the rest of the Rebel Alliance, as they strike out for freedom against the evil forces of Darth Vader and his master, the Emperor. Written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder), and with art by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny Avengers), this is the Star Wars saga as only Marvel Comics could make it!

Star Wars #1 is available today, January 14, 2015. It is available at comic book shops, the Marvel Comics app, and the Marvel Digital Comics Shop for $4.99.
