There’s been a bit of back and forth as to whether Spider-Man and Venom will be meeting up in the upcoming Venom film or future Spider-Man films.
Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal sort of confirmed the two universes (being Sony’s and Marvel’s) are linked during a press junket for the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said Venom wasn’t in the MCU prior to the interview with Pascal.
Once again, Feige has come out to say that the two worlds will not collide. Speaking with Variety, Feige shut down any rumors or thoughts of the two universes colliding.
When asked if Spider-man will be making an appearance in Venom, Feige gave a concise answer.
“No.”
Feige did go on to offer more, saying “No, I think the folks there are making a great ‘Venom’ movie and I don’t know much about it, but I know they’re off to a good start with Tom Hardy.”
So, we are back to square one… but at least we have Tom Hardy as Venom and maybe Carnage.
