To make room for a new Spider-Man film — which Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios will collaborate on after an agreement that brings Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Marvel is pushing back the release dates on four of the Phase 3 films. The movies affected are Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Inhumans. The new Spider-Man film is releasing on July 28, 2017, which is the date that the third Thor solo film was set to release in theaters.
The new release date schedule has Thor: Ragnarok releasing November 3, 2017; Black Panther on July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel on November 2, 2018; Inhumans on July 12, 2019. So here is the updated list of all the Marvel films coming in the future (the rest of Phase 2 and Phase 3), with the new Spider-Man collab thrown in there for good measure:
Phase 2
- The Avengers: Age of Ultron – May 1, 2015
- Ant-Man – July 17, 2015
Phase 3
- Captain America: Civil War – May 6, 2016
- Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016
- Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – May 5, 2017
- Spider-Man – July 27, 2017
- Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017
- The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – May 4, 2018
- Black Panther – July 6, 2018
- Captain Marvel – November 2, 2018
- The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 – May 3, 2019
- Inhumans – July 12, 2019
It'll be interesting to see how Spider-Man fits into to Marvel Studios' Phase 4, and how the outcome of Civil War and the Infinity War movies affect that.
