Following a month after Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s release next week, players will be able to download the innovative “Shadow Mode.”
Shadow Mode includes custom-built AI opponents modeled after “famous players.” So far, Capcom has announced teams consisting of the game’s producer, Ryota Niitsuma, as well as Assistant Producer Akihito Kadowaki and an unnamed QA team leader. Future packs are promising some familiar personalities, presumably hinting at pro-gamers and possibly even celebrities.
The downloadable packs (sounds like they will cost money) will contain three unique teams each. Recent Virtua Fighter titles have allowed you to play against AI modeled after other players, and even to record your own style, but it’s definitely a feature that deserves to be implemented in more titles–and not just fighters either.
