Mass Effect 2 may be the debut of BioWare’s gun-heavy action-RPG series on the PlayStation 3, but the developer is making sure to provide plenty of content for gamers who get the game on Sony’s console when it launches later this month. Aside from the motion comic that will introduce players to the story and get them up-to-date with the happenings of the last installment, a couple of formerly Xbox 360 and PC exclusive items will also be available for download on the PlayStation Network.
The two free downloadable items in question are the Terminus armor and the M-490 Blackstorm Heavy Weapon. Both of these items add serious muscle to your defense and offense, and the M-490 actually allows you to create small black holes. This artillery was previously only available to gamers who preordered Mass Effect 2 for Xbox 360 and PC at GameStop, but both items will be available for free until February 23. If you’re thinking of getting Mass Effect 2 for PlayStation 3 and you want everything that the original versions featured, be sure to head over to the PlayStation Store shortly after picking up your copy of the game.
