The Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 will release with the Extended Cut DLC already included on disc.
Speaking to Siliconera, BioWare confirmed the added endings will be a part of the game, meaning you won't have to download it separately.
"The extended ending is basically going to be part of the game instead," Mass Effect producer Michael Gamble said. "You won't have to download it."
Extended Cut was released after the initial launch of Mass Effect 3 following fan outcry of the original endings. While DLC didn't necessarily change the endings, it did provide additional content to give more context and clarity to the endings. However, it did add a fourth "Refusal" ending.
Gamble didn't say if the Wii U version will also include the previous multiplayer add-ons released to date. Today was the release of Mass Effect 3: Earth, another free multiplayer add-on that includes three new maps, more playable N7 characters, unique weapons, and a new "Platinum" difficulty.
Gamble previously shared BioWare's plans moving forward with Mass Effect 3, revealing the developer would like to create single-player DLC that "focuses around Commander Shepard."
