In a thread on the Neogaf forums, general manager of Bioware Aaryn Flynn talked about Mass Effect: Andromeda for consoles. He talked about how the title has no plans to appear on the Nintendo Switch or the Scorpio project, but while on the subject, he gave some information about the tech behind Mass Effect: Andromeda.
According to Flynn, the game will run at 1080p on PlayStation 4 while the Xbox One will run it at 900p. Before starting another battle in the console wars, however, it should be noted that both copies of the game will run at 30fps as well.
“Last I checked, we were like other Frostbite games on PS4 and XBox One – 1080p and 900p respectively. All are at 30 fps. PC has uncapped framerate. I think we’ve even gotten over the 30 fps cap in cutscenes, but I’ll double-check in the next couple of weeks.”
According to OneAngryGamer, The Last of Us: Remastered on PS4 Pro was targeted to run at 1800p and 60fps but it's been said to not be the case for Mass Effect: Andromeda, capping the FPS at a mere 30. As per usual, the PC will run the game at an uncapped framerate, but it is unsure why these caps have been made for the console release, especially with the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S hitting the market to promise such achievements.
