Electronic Arts isn't talking much about Mass Effect: Andromeda — the next installment in BioWare's sci-fi shooter-RPG franchise — but during its most recent earnings call, the publisher gave us a possible release window for the highly anticipated game.
"Mass Effect Andromeda from the team at BioWare will launch later in the fiscal year," EA CEO Andrew Wilson revealed.
EA's FY2017 runs from April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017, so technically it should be out by April 2017 — barring any delays, that is. It's a wide window, for sure, but looking at EA's calendar of upcoming games could help narrow it down.
During EA's same earnings call, the company said to expect a new Battlefield later this year in time for the holidays. Additionally, EA expects Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall to also release sometime in fiscal 2017, presumably around March 2017 since that's when its predecessor launched.
Assuming Battlefield releases in October — which is typically when new Battlefield games arrive (save for the anomoly that is Battlefield Hardline) — and Titanfall in March, then Mass Effect: Andromeda would have a window between November 2016 and February 2017. The release dates for all Mass Effect games vary, but Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 both released in the early part of a year.
