Mass Effect: Andromeda Lets Players Bang and Boot

We know that Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be a huge game, bigger than any Bioware game by a large margin. But what can you do in that large, open blackness of space? Bang.

That's right, one night stands are totally an option in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Whether you chose the male or female Ryder twin, both characters have the option to bang and boot. The Mass Effect series has always been good about being inclusive. Gay characters, lesbian characters, everyone was able to find love in space. But Mass Effect: Andromeda lets players explore their sexual adventures without needing to be tied down (well… being tied down hasn't been written off either, bu that's a different subject entirely)

This isn't to say that every supporting character flies around crotch-first, but there are some characters with their priorities arranged in such a way that this is possible. In an interview with Finder, producer Fabrice Condominas plainly states,

"You can have sex with a lot of people. I won’t tell if it is everyone or not, but it’s a whole lot of people. Plus you can even have one night stands."

He also details the new trust system, which is a more than just "talk to this character til they like you." He stated that it doesn't affect the gameplay directly, but it definitely changes interactions and narratives with characters. When asked how it works, he says:

"So we’ve gone away from the binary system to this more nuanced system around tone choice, and this also allows us to bring more nuance to the trust system. So even that isn’t binary. But for each character there is a threshold and when you reach that ceiling, you will unlock loyalty missions. There are two main parameters to that; there are the dialogue choices, which breaks down to the reaction you take, the tone you choose and what choice you make. Then there is your behaviour. So were you aggressive the first time you started the conversation? Did you shoot first? Or were you more peaceful? So the threshold for each character is different, because it becomes based on their personality."

So not every character has the same checklist as previous games like "You talked to me 27 times. Now do my loyalty mission, then we can bone." It seems instead to have a much more subtle approach with different interactions and possibilities with different characters. Some of whom would like to get it on.
