At E3 we were finally presented with the title of the next Mass Effect game as Mass Effect Andromeda. The game had spent two years in development, that we know of, before we were finally revealed this title but it wasn't always set in stone. Yesterday, Mass Effect Andromeda Director Chris Winn tweeted an interesting remark about the game's title that never was. In response to a story about the next Star Trek film title, Star Trek Beyond, Winn tweeted that "We almost used the same name, that would have been awkward".
Mr. Winn is correct, not only is the word "beyond" over used in in media these days but Mass Effect Beyond just sounds terrible. At this point, all we know about the game is that it will release in the Holiday of 2016 on current generation consoles and PC only with last generation consoles being left out. Bioware has also indicated that the game will have nothing to do with the original trilogy as well, which is good because it makes no sense whatsoever according to the current Mass Effect lore. Hopefully we get to hear more information soon, but I wouldn't hold my breath with how long it took us to just get the title.
