Mass Effect Legendary Edition brings back an iconic trilogy next spring

A proper new one is also in the works

After years of speculations and wishful thinking, EA and BioWare finally revealed the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. The remaster package includes the original Mass Effect Trilogy and launches next year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2021. Check out the reveal trailer below!

Good news for fans of RPGs and sci-fi. Mass Effects finally returns to the spotlight with a remaster trilogy soon. BioWare and EA shared the exciting news on N7 Day, the annual celebration of all things Mass Effect.

Even better, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition launches very soon, in spring of 2021. Fans can look forward to experiencing one of the best RPG series of all time with a brand-new coat of paint. The developer promises super-sharp resolutions, faster framerates, and additional visual enhancements.

As expected, the trilogy remaster also included all DLC in one neat package. Arguably a similar highlight for anyone who tried to get all content for cheap.

Sure, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a great package and enough reason for excitement. But together with that announcement we also learn that an entirely new Mass Effect title is currently in the works.

Just keep in mind that it’s still a long time off. BioWare GM Casey Hudson shared as much while also stating that it’s still early days for the project. It’s obviously good news that a new Mass Effect is happening but after the latest Mass Effect Andromeda, BioWare sure has their work cut out for them in winning back fans. Not only that but with Anthem the legendary studio lost a lot of goodwill for good.

For now, you can look forward for the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Weirdly enough, it’s only confirmed for the current-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One with forward compatibility on next-gen consoles.
