Master Chief Collection & Halo Reach coming to PC on December 3rd

An update to the store pages of both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo Reach on the Microsoft online store confirms that the iconic Xbox shooter is very close to making its return to PC. According to the store page, Reach will launch this December 3rd.

Update: This news has been officially confirmed and is no longer just a rumor. You can view the trailer by clicking here.

Microsoft unveiled the great news that with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, PC gamers would be getting the entire FPS series (except Halo 5) on their preferred gaming platform earlier this year. After the announcement, 343 Industries started beta testing both the multiplayer and singleplayer portions in so-called “game flights”. From those, we learned about the system requirements and how cross-play across the Xbox One, Windows Store and Steam are going to work.

Halo: Reach* comes to PC as the first installment of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Now optimized for PC, experience the heroic story of Noble Team, a group of Spartans, who through great sacrifice and courage, saved countless lives in the face of impossible odds. The planet Reach is humanity’s last line of defense between the encroaching Covenant and their ultimate goal, the destruction of Earth. If it falls, humanity will be pushed to the brink of destruction.

But one important aspect Microsoft stayed tight-lipped about was the release date. Despite Microsoft stating early that they aim a 2019 release for Halo: MCC starting with Halo Reach, we never got an official statement. This changes today somewhat, as the official store page of both Halo: MCC and Reach now state December 3rd as the release date. With X019 starting later today, this could very well be some admin jumping the shark for what was planned to be unveiled during the show. Make sure to tune in to the live show via Mixer, YouTube or Twitch.

Nonetheless, it’s great news that in only a few weeks we’ll be able to play Bungie’s masterpiece send-off title on PC.
