Matthew MacCaull has been cast as the Justice Society of America's Commander Steel in 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow'.
If you've been keeping up with the CW's DC universe line-up, you might have found yourself coming across their newest program on the schedule, 'Legends of Tomorrow'. The show centers on former "Time Master", Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill, 'Doctor Who'), as he recruits classic heroes and miscreants to assist in stopping the immortal tyrant, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump, 'The Legend of Tarzan').
(LAST SEASON) SPOILERS AHEAD!
Once Savage was defeated, season one ended with the Legends met by a mysterious man "arriving", or more accurately "crashing", in front of them in what appears to be their own time traveling spaceship, The Waverider. Emerging from the wreckage was a man who refers to himself as Rex Tyler…from the Justice Society of America!
It would seem that next season will have them interacting more with the JSA as they attempt to stop this universe's version of the Legion of Doom, helmed by Reverse Flash, Malcolm Merlyn, and Damien Darkh. Recently, it was announced 'iZombie' star Matthew MacCaull has been cast as Henry Heywood, aka Commander Steel, a hero with untold strength and durability thanks to his superpowered armor.
The rest of the JSA will be rounded out by Rex Tyler, aka Hourman, Stargirl, Obsidian, and Dr. Midnite. The thought of the JSA being featured is sending fans all a-tingle considering some of the other members of the team from the comics have already been introduced in this universe, namely Jay Garrick's The Flash and Hawkman, but if they make their return, there's no word on whether or not they will join the ranks of the legendary Golden Age team.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow: season 2 premieres on The CW October 13th!
