Max Payne 3 ‘Cheater Pool’ live for all platforms

Hey cheaters, Rockstar doesn’t take too kind to your methods, and they won’t put up with it in their popular shooter, Max Payne 3. Last month the developer announced that they were working on a way to keep cheaters from ruining everyone’s experience. They went to the drawing boards and created an innovative punishment called the “Cheaters Pool.”

The pool acts as an Alcatraz, whereas your shipped away to an island, but one you won’t enjoy being at. Players in the pool still have the opportunity to regain their names and enter back into regular multiplayer, or on the other hand, become permanently banned, though the details pertaining to that have been slim. Nonetheless, Rockstar announced today that the Cheaters Pool is now live and the first waves of folks are being…well…demoted.

Rockstar still asks that you continue to help their search for these scums, but ask that you do it following their rules; rules that can be seen below:

If you have any questions about how the cheater pool works, check out our support article here. To report any potential violators, just fire off an email to maxpayne3.banhammer@rockstargames.com including:

 • Platform (PC, PS3 or Xbox 360)

 • Cheater’s Gamertag / ID

 • Description of the violation

 • If possible, please include concrete evidence, such as a video or a screenshot

Honestly, this is one of the greatest ideas for these types of people in quite some time. Though banning may permanently stop these folks within a game, throwing them all into a pool where they’ll never kill anyone due to cheating is quite ingenious, and we’re all for it.
