Following on the heels of Sony's PlayStation Plus announcement, Microsoft has revealed the lineup of free Xbox games coming in May as part of the Games with Gold program. Next month, Xbox LIVE Gold members can expect three new free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360, as well as the return of one of last month's games.
For Xbox One, we'll be getting tower-defense brawler mashup CastleStorm: Definitive Edition ($14.99 ERP). Pool Nation FX may look familiar, and that's because it was actually one of last month's free games as well. Microsoft will be extending its availability for another month.
For Xbox 360, we're getting Mafia II ($19.99 ERP) and F1 2013 ($49.99 ERP).
Mafia II, a third-person action game that immerses you in the dark and unforgiving world of the Mafia in the 40's and 50's, will be available for free from May 1-15. Following Mafia II will be the open-wheel racing sim F1 2013 from May 16-31.
As a reminder, the switch over to May means you're running out of time to add last month's games to your library, so make sure you download what's left of April's Games with Gold offerings before they are replaced. There was quite a few games as Microsoft was celebrating a huge milestone of over 100 million Games with Gold downloads.
There's no exciting milestone to go along with May's free games, but they're free, so no complaining here.
