Mayan Calendar to End Before Final Fantasy XIII Versus Release?

Looking forward to playing Final Fantasy XIII Versus? Well it looks like you may have to wait out the end of the world first. Speaking to Gaming Union at this year’s Gamescom expo, FFXIII Versus Producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that the game still has a long time to go before any release. “We have no release date information to update. Unfortunately we can’t say anything about that. We can’t commit ourselves to 2011 either.”

Although he didn’t specifically state that there was absolutely zero chance of a release next year, it makes it very unlikely that the game will be coming out anytime soon as it’s still in its development phase. I’d love to say that we’d have more news for you sometime soon, but any guess I’d make is about as good as Nostradamus’.
