Toymaker McFarlane Toys has revealed a new line of Titanfall action figures will arrive later this year.
Though the promotional image on the website makes no mention of the sequel, a press release sent to Polygon supposedly specifies the new line of action figures are based on Titanfall 2, and will launch alongside the game in "winter 2016."
The image also says the new toys will stand at 7-inches and will come in a new collector box. The press release says they'll feature "the same meticulous level of detail that McFarlane has become known for over the last two decades."
"This is a perfect fit. McFarlane [Toys] was created so I could make cool stuff just like this," said Todd McFarlane, owner and CEO of McFarlane Toys, in the release. "Without saying too much about the new game… You're not going to believe where we can take this."
Electronic Arts has responded to the press release, confirming the toys, but refusing to specify if they are related to the sequel.
"MacFarlane Toys will be releasing toys inspired by Titanfall in Winter of 2016. We have yet to provide a release date for the next Titanfall experience from Respawn," EA said in a statement.
Titanfall 2 hasn't officially been revealed, but it's widely known that EA and Respawn Entertainment are working on the sequel. In EA's recent earnings call, CFO Blake Jorgenson said the game is looking "fantastic."
During another previous earnings call, the publisher called for a fiscal 2017 release for the game. EA's FY2017 runs from April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017, so it's possible that Titanfall 2 could be EA's big holiday release for 2016. Titanfall originally released on Xbox One and PC in March 2014. It's sequel is expected to be available for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 this time around.
