Medieval monarchy-sim Crusader Kings III launches this September

Paradox Interactive has unveiled the release date for Crusader Kings III. Come September 1st, PC gamers will be able to rewrite history itself by creating their own monarchies in the follow-up to one of the most unique PC exclusives to date. Check out the story trailer short gameplay teaser below!

The Crusader Kings franchise has long established itself as one of the best grand strategy titles on the PC. With its unique blend of realism and deep simulation, it offers a strategy experience that ends up being more of absurd role-playing fantasy. Just a glance at the Steam forums alone is enough to create a morbid curiosity of what the game is actually about.

Choose a royal or noble house from a number of realms on a map that stretches from Iceland to India, from the Arctic Circle to Central Africa.
Guide a dynasty through the centuries, ensuring the security and power of each new generation. Gather new lands and titles to cement your legacy.
Be a pious king to bring the religious powers to your side, or strike out on your own, designing your own splinter religion and earning everlasting fame or eternal damnation.
Knights, peasant revolts, pilgrimages, Viking raiders…experience the drama and pageantry of the Middle Ages.

The truth is, it’s what you want it to be. If you want to stay as close to historical facts and relive past events itself, go ahead. More a fan of alternate history and want to invade Russia? You are free to try. Rather enjoy marrying into competing royal families and win by diplomacy? The world is your playing ground!

With Crusader Kings III you’ll be doing all those and more. Chose your starting region & house, and use every tool in your belt to achieve your ultimate goal of becoming the most powerful family in the world!

Crusader Kings III will be available on September 1st via Steam, Microsoft Store, and the Paradox Store. You can pre-order the game right now for $49.99.
