Big Moon Entertainment and Camel 101 are attempting to go back to the old school survival horror genre with their introduction of Syndrome.
With Syndrome, Camel 101 takes first person survival horror back to its roots. In the dark confines of the ship, defending yourself is difficult and not always possible. There are a few weapons scattered about, but nowhere near enough ammunition to deal with all the transformed monstrosities. To survive and uncover the events that took place while you were asleep, you can’t always face your enemies head on; sometimes hiding and breathing as noiselessly as possible is your best course of action.
Careful resource management is a key part of Syndrome, but so is learning your enemies’ behavior. What will attract their attention? What will give you a few precious seconds to pass by undetected? Take note―each misstep could be deadly. The game will let you run from your enemies and try to elude them or take them head on. If you choose to fight, you must be careful as ammo is in short supply. You may also distract your enemies similar to Metal Gear where you can make a sound and then move when they come to investigate.
There is no set release date yet, but a window of Q2 2016 is scheduled as of now. Syndrome will release on Xbox One, PS4 as well as PC and it will support Oculus VR also.
