Mega Man 1 through 6 will be coming to 3DS eShop

Street Fighter X Mega Man isn't the only blue bomber related news today. Starting on December 27th, Nintendo 3DS owners will get treated to some retro goodness with the release of Mega Man 1 and Mega Man 2 on February 7th. Mega Man 3 – 6 will then be released periodically throughout 2013. That means you'll have the entire classic NES collection all in one, convenient place.

It might not be the Mega Man Legends 3 news we were all hoping for, as everyone is hoping that the popularity of the free Street Fighter X Mega Man proves to Capcom just how much everyone loves their robotic mascot to bring it back. I think we can chalk this up as a win though. Not only does this bring back Mega Man in his most retro form, and gives a younger generation a chance to try the immensely difficult platformer, it shows that Capcom realizes that fans still love and want more Mega Man.

Now just bring back Mega Man Legends 3 dammit!
