Mega Man returning to television in 2017

Mega Man is making a comeback as an animated TV show thanks to Dentsu Entertainment partnering up with Man of Action Entertainment. The new installment in the series will be 26 episodes long and will be based off of Capcom's Mega Man video game franchise.

The Mega Man franchise goes back to 1987 as a video game. There have been over 130 games set in the franchise's multiverse and has sold more than 30 million games worldwide. In the 1990's Mega Man became an animated TV series that aired for several seasons.

According to Duncan Rouleau of Man of Action the company is looking forward to creating "something new that still respects the long tradition of the character." The CEO of Dentsu Entertainment Yuichi Kinoshita revealed his excitement for the animated series' reboot saying, "We are very excited about the opportunity to introduce an all-new Mega Man to loyal fans and kids."

Expect Mega Man to hit your TV in 2017.
