The legendary Pokémon Rayquaza isn't at its final form anymore. No, it's going Mega from here on out (technically, it's going Mega whenever you tell it to – but that's beside the point).
Rayquaza won't Mega Evolve the same way the other Pokémon do, its evolution will be unique. While Rayquaza's unique evolution hasn't been revealed, The Pokémon company did say that "all will become clear in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire."
When Mega Evolution is achieved for Rayquaza its Attack and Special Attack get boosted making it overwhelmingly powerful.
A new move and weather condition were revealed for Mega Rayquaza:
Dragon Ascent: Unique to Rayquaza is has the greatest power ratings of all Flying-type moves. It isn't just powerful, it will also be fun to watch. Rayquaza will soar up to thesky iand crashes down in an attack, dealing massive damage.
Strong Winds Weather Condition: After the Delta Stream Ability is used, a storm is kicked up causing a couple side-effects:
- Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, and Hail will fail.
- Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will fail to activate.
- Moves of a type that Flying-type Pokémon are usually weak to will only deal normal damage to any Flying-type Pokémon in the battle.
Delta Stream's weather effects last indefinitely as long as Mega Rayquaza remains in battle, if you swap Rayquaza out the weather returns to normal.
What do you think of Mega Rayquaza (and these game remakes in general)? Let me know!
