Mercedes-AMG GT to debut in PS4’s Driveclub

The brand new Mercedes-AMG GT isn't supposed to hit the market until 2015, but PlayStation 4 owners will be able to take the new sports car from Mercedes-Benz out for test drive a bit early in Driveclub.

Available as free DLC right after the game's launch, the Mercedes-AMG GT has been recreated in the upcoming racing game thanks to "a close collaboration" with developer Evolution who, according to Mercedes-Benz' Volker Zaiss, "have been able to replicate the car in astonishing detail."

Unfortunately, Zaiss isn't "as much of a gearhead" as the engineers at AMG so we don't have any specs on the car. However, he does say the roaring engine sound and feel of the car's power is "truly addictive."

"And Driveclub does an excellent job of giving you that same extraordinary feeling," he adds. "Experiencing the car while racing through beautifully rendered landscapes with the sunlight reflecting from the bonnet, and sharing in the excitement of racing for a club with my friends — what could be better?"

Driveclub is set to release exclusively for PS4 on October 7 in North America. It's unclear if this DLC will be free to those who play just the PS Plus Edition of the game.
