Metal Gear Online ‘Cloaked in Silence’ DLC features a familiar face

Some new details have emerged today regarding the next batch of DLC headed to Metal Gear Online. Due to release in March, the Cloaked in Silence DLC will feature new maps as well as a new playable character; Quiet.

The DLC will come with three new maps which take advantage of Quiet's sniper and movement abilities. The maps included are

  1. Coral Complex: A dedicated Motherbase environment, allowing players to access tall towers and use storage containers and other internal areas as cover for tactical advantage. Coral Complex mixes open areas and a myriad of hiding opportunities.
  2. Rust Palace: Set within Afghanistan, the Rust Palace is a large multi-level building. The skeletal nature of the decrepit ruin means that cover is scarce, while the internal areas are rich in dusty rooms and high-up sniping positions.
  3. Azure Mountain: An outdoor plain under Africa’s baking sky. A small cluster of buildings offers scant cover, with only derelict walls and occasional scrubland surrounding the massive rock known locally as the Cradle of Spirits.

Also released with the DLC, but as a free add on, is a new mission called Sabotage. In the mission, Attackers must destroy an enemy missile before the round expires; but to access the missile, attackers must first hack into the Terminals to deactivate the Electromagnetic (EM) Barrier that is protecting it. Once the Terminals are hacked and the EM Barrier is deactivated, defenders can choose to reactivate the Barrier or protect the Missile.

There will also be Metal Gear Online's own version of emotes, called Appeal Actions. You will be able to assign up to five different actions per character, but these will come at an additional cost. Each appeal pack will cost €1.99 while the DLC itself comes in a very reasonable €3.99 when it releases in March.
