Metal Gear Solid 4 getting trophies … four years later

Konami has confirmed that trophy support and a new game version are coming for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

According to Famitsu, a budget re-release of the game is hitting Japan this August, along with a patch that will incorporate trophies for existing copies.

Kojima Productions is holding a Metal Gear anniversary event in Tokyo on August 30, where creator Hideo Kojima will unveil something new related to the "Transfarring" data-sharing feature found in the HD Collection.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a critically acclaimed game in which the effects of cloning put Solid Snake in his final months of life.
