Konami is making way for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on the PlayStation 4 by bringing an update to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. The update will allow players to upload their saved data from Ground Zeroes and use it in The Phantom Pain.
The update, version 1.04, has thus far only been made available on the PlayStation 4, with no word on the Xbox One or PC versions of Ground Zeroes receiving the update.
There are two changes listed in the update: the new save upload feature and fixes for Russian translations. If you're picking up a copy of The Phantom Pain, you might want to look into the save transfer for Ground Zeroes. You'll find the option to transfer your save in the main menu of Ground Zeroes, transferring your save will upload your data to the PlayStation Network and then will be carried over to The Phantom Pain.
There are no details on what affects the save transfer will have on The Phantom Pain, but it's been suggested that it has to do with Mother Base recruit costumes. Players will likely be limited to transferring their saves from one PlayStation platform to another, and one Xbox console to another.
