This past Friday, Metal Gear fans were heartbroken after the cancellation announcement of the fan remake of Metal Gear Solid on the Unreal 4 Engine. So when fans saw David Hayter tweeting out what seems to be MGS1 dialogue, people started to freak out.
Colonel,
What's the meaning of this? Why am I back in this booth?#SnakeMystery@4pauleiding pic.twitter.com/ma9fJncbVv

Earlier today, David Hayter, the iconic voice behind Solid Snake tweeted out a picture of him in the booth with some of the very first spoken words we hear in the original game from the PS1. However, fans speculation have been stopped early as this was all clarified pretty quickly.
Apparently Paul Eiding, the voice of the Colonel, challenged David Hayter to record an insult in Snake's voice in a good cause for a social media campaign that supports the Antaeus Theatre Company.

However, this doesn’t necessarily relate to each other. The two do not directly correlate, and Hayter does not clarify in any way that this was in response to Eiding. Could Hayter actually be making a return?
