About a month ago at Gamescom 2016, Konami revealed what they have been working on in the post-Kojima Metal Gear era; a little game called Metal Gear Survive. Given that the fans are still salty towards the Japanese giant over the Kojima break up/Silent Hills cancellation, coupled with the borderline non-sensical scenario the game offered (even though that's pretty much a staple of Metal Gear as a whole), there was just no way this thing was going to win the internet. And it didn't.
Now with Tokyo Game Show starting up tomorrow, Konami has revealed that they plan on showing off the game in action for the first time on September 17th. For those of you who can't make the show, the demo will be livestreamed on YouTube and Niconico.
Metal Gear Survive just feels like a no-win situation for Konami. The bias against the company is pretty ravenous right now, so to come out with a game with a questionable premise already puts the game in the hole. Hopefully, Survive can surprise and deliver a quality game in a franchise that has long since given up on the idea of what is sensible.
