Metro: Last Light announces pre-order incentives, offers Homefront for free

THQ just announced their pre-order incentives for Metro: Last Light, which is the sequel to 2010's Metro 2033. The initial copies will be sold as Limited Editions that will be packed with exclusive content. What's better, the upgrade to Limited Edition is completely free, if you pre-order now from the THQ Store and select retailers such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart for the standard edition price of $59.99.

What you'll get in the limited edition, besides the retail copy of the game, is 'Ranger Mode,' the fan-favorite game type from Metro 2033 that will offer the ultimate immersive Metro experience.

“‘Ranger Mode’ provides the definitive Metro experience,” said Huw Beynon, creative strategist, THQ. “It’s deservedly regarded as one of the most immersive, atmospheric challenges in gaming and we think fans will be very happy to see its return in the Metro: Last Light Limited Edition.”

Also included is the Ranger load-out which conatins bonus military grade bullets and the deadly AKS-74U modified Russian rifle.

Additionally, anyone who pre-orders the Limited Edition digital version of Metro: Last Light on PSN will also receive a free digital copy of Homefront at launch, as well as Last Light PSN Theme.

It is the year 2034. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…
